Our Holiday Program Provides a Much-Needed Gift to Homeowners in Central Maryland
Since 2015, we’ve partnered with United Way of Central Maryland to provide a Gift of Warmth to families throughout Baltimore during the holiday season. As part of our partnership, we work with United Way’s 211 helpline to provide heating system repairs to low-income homeowners without heat.
211 is a 24/7 toll-free helpline that connects callers with health and human service resources. Resource specialists provide information and referrals for a variety of needs, including food assistance, healthcare, mental health and substance misuse, legal assistance and more.
To date, we’ve restored heat to 30 houses throughout greater Baltimore as a part of the Gift of Warmth program. Sometimes a heating repair is the difference between a family huddling together to try to stay warm at night, and sleeping comfortably in their own beds. Recipients of the heating repairs are pre-screened by a team of resource specialists at 211 and must meet strict income and homeownership guidelines to qualify for the program. Once a caller is passed along to us, our team goes to work providing required repairs and delivering the same level of customer service that’s made us the leading HVAC company in the area.
Making an Impact in Baltimore
In 2015, early into the Gift of Warmth program, we were called to provide a heating repair for a 211 helpline caller. When our team arrived at the home, they discovered that the home’s boiler was leaking carbon monoxide. Unable to safely heat the home, the boiler could not be repaired and had reached the end of its useful life. To fulfill our promise to provide the Gift of Warmth, our team donated and installed a replacement system. Our efforts made a big impact on the homeowner, who called the new system and our work that day “a blessing.”
