How it Works: Standby Power Generators
An automatic standby generator is designed to continually monitor utility voltage delivered to your home. If the electricity supply is interrupted, the backup generator will detect the disruption. The automatic transfer switch will safely disconnect from utility power and engage the generator to supply power to your home. Within seconds of an outage, the generator will restore power. Once the utility restores power, the backup generator will detect the supply and switch back to standby mode.
